Afuri Ramen & Dumplings

Afuri ramen is another highly recommended shop in downtown Portland that was wildly popular upon their opening. Boasting a large space and ordering via a touch screen, this shop is every introverts dream. Until the food is delivered by a staff member that lacks the passion the bowl of soup does.

Given their popularity, I was… disappointed to say the least. Unfortunate to say, I think this may have been some of the worst ramen I have ever eaten. Despite ordering tonkotsu, the broth was oddly fishy and… sweet? The smell itself was nauseating. They use a thin noodle in their dishes, and thus it did not stand the test of time and ultimately disintegrated into my broth.

Save your time and wallet and skip this stop on your PNW ramen journey.
